Artists can choose from various mediums when they set about creating a picture: watercolors, oil paints, acrylic paint, etc. Or, if not painting, then perhaps they sketch – a pen-and-ink or a pencil sketch – or some other type of art. Some artists consistently use the same medium. Others select a medium depending on their mood at the moment of inspiration. Nearly all hope that their pictures will some day be on exhibit in an art gallery, although unfortunately only a select few live to have such luck.
מאָלערס קענען זיך אויסקלײַבן פֿון פֿאַרשידענע מעדיומס ווען זיי שטעלן זיך שאַפֿן אַ בילד: אַקוואַרעלן, איילפֿאַרב, אַקרילישע פֿאַרב אאַז״וו. אָדער, אויב נישט פֿאַרבן, איז אפֿשר סקיצירן זיי – אַ פֿעדער־צייכענונג צי אַ בלײַ־צייכענונג – צי גאָר אַן אַנדער מין קונסט. געוויסע קינסטלערס ניצן אַלע מאָל דווקא דעם זעלבן מעדיום. אַנדערע קלײַבן זיך אויס אַ מעדיום באַזירט אויף זייער שטימונג אינעם מאָמענט פֿון אינספּיראַציע. כּמעט אַלע האָפֿן אַז זייערע בילדער וועלן אַ מאָל הענגען אויסגעשטעלט אין אַ קונסט־גאַלעריע, כאָטש צום באַדויערן זענען נאָר אַ געציילטע צאָל קינסטלערס זוכה צון אַזאַ מזל אין לעבן.
