יעדן פֿרילינג קוקט ער אַרויס אויפֿן פֿאַרזעצן אַ גרינסן־גאָרטן. ווען ער גייט אַרויס און זעט דעם מיט ווילדגראָז באַוואַקסענעם הויף זאָגט ער זיך צו, אַז הײַיאָר וועט ער – אַפֿילו נאָך מער ווי ס׳פֿריִערדיקע יאָר – קאָמפּאָסטירן און באַמיסטיקן די ערד און ס׳וועט דערפֿון, מיט גאָטס הילף , אַרויס אַ רײַך גערעטעניש.
Every spring he looks forward to planting a vegetable garden. When he goes outside and sees the weedy overgrown yard, he promises himself that this year – even more than the previous year – he will use more compost and fertilizer on the soil and, God willing, end up with a good harvest.
